Receiving money when selling car

Not directly related to the payment side but no requirement to send anything to DVLA with signatures on it, all can be done online now.
Shows how long it has been since I last sold a car privately - the internet didn't exist then and it was a Model T Ford.:)
That said, I just checked my V5 document and that still carries the instructions for the seller to get both signatures and send the form off.0 -
People buy and sell cars without the opportunity to kick the tyres all the time.
In practice it is little different to a car auction - just a set of pictures instead of the rushed look at the car.
Look at car sales on eBay. Of cause they have PayPal to handle the money.
I have sold two cars on eBay. Both transactions completed without viewing the vehicles although the buyers picked the car up themselves and handed over cash then.
I do find it strange that the buyer isnt collecting the vehicle themselves.0
