Sending forms back to DWP - how late can you leave it?

It might be a daft question, but if they don't receive a form on or before the date (or extension date) they gave you, does DWP count it as not received?

Rather than start another thread you could have asked this question on your other thread.

You need to make sure you return it at least a week before that date. If it's not received by the date stated then yes, it will be classed as not being received.

Send the form back as soon as you can. If you have been granted an extension it is vital that you return it by the due date.
  • I sent my PIP forms back 10 days before the due date, on day 10 I phoned to check they had received them, they hadn't but they said give it a few days and check again as we always allow a few days for the forms to be scanned into the system. And checking back a few days later they had them.

They get sent to a central system and are scanned in before the relevant department gets them, so it is likely to be seen several days later. If you get a certificate of posting, it shows you sent it in time, if there is any refusal to accept it.
