Fiesta Spare Wheel Question

Hi there. Does anyone know if the full size spare from my 2011 Zetec will fit a new Fiesta Active 1? Don't want to add to the cost of a new vehicle if the old one will do!
Thanks,
Claire.

The stud pattern is the same so it should fit, without knowing the wheels sizes and offset it's not a definite.

    Thanks,
    Claire.

Sorry, I'm a little confused by your question.

All 2011 Fiesta's that came with a spare wheel had a steel rim fitted with a 175/65 R14 tyre.
What confuses me is this was not a full size spare. It might have been on a most basic Studio model, but not for any Zetec model, I don't think.

I think the Zetec came with a 15" or possibly 16" rim (and some may have had 17")

Only the 14" spare fits in the spare wheel well.

I'm pretty sure the 2019 Fiesta range comes with exactly the same spare wheel & tyre (where fitted)

Remember, it's not just the wheel & tyre you need.
The optional spare wheel kit also includes the jack & wheel brace, and the associated packing block to store them within the wheel.
Finally, you also need the spare wheel securing bolt.

I'm pretty sure these are also all the same as the 2011 model, but you'll need to double check them too (unless somone here can confirm they are). I particular the retaining bolt, as I cannot recall currently which one is used on the 2019 Fiesta.

Presumably, you are planning to just swap all this over from your old car?`

How old is the spare tyre in your current car? Is is still the original one supplied with the car from new? If it is, it may well be worth paying the less than 1% extra to have the spare wheel & associated kit fitted in the factory.

I remember one of our local (over zealous, possibly a caravanning) traffic police officer tweeted recently that they refused to assist someone who had a puncture to replace their wheel, and actually prevented them from fitting it themselves and driving off, as the spare wheel had a 7+ year old tyre fitted.
The Caravan Club offers the following advice, which can also be used for trailers:
“As a general rule, it is advised that caravan tyres should ideally be replaced when 5 years old, and should never be used when more than 7 years old. This advice is borne out by the Club’s own research into caravan tyre failures, which confirms that the likelihood of a tyre problem increases after such age. Our research further suggests that tyres which need a high inflation pressure (say 50psi or more) require greater care still. Such tyres should be closely examined for signs of deterioration from 3 years old, and it would be strongly advised not to use them beyond 5 years old. It is not the case that all tyres over these ages will rapidly fail. However, the statistical likelihood of a problem occurring increases noticeably with age.
    Similarly
The NTDA recommends that spare tyres over 6 years old should only be used as a ‘get you home’ emergency measure and then changed at the earliest opportunity.

Personally, I've never really worried about the age of the spare wheel tyre as long as it is in otherwsie good condition, especially as with these space saver tyres, despite the higher pressures, they are not to be used above 80km/h (50mph) and should always be replaced by a proper sized wheel & tyre at the first opportunity anyway.

It is worth checking other sellers.

My dad bought a new Seat Arona a few weeks ago and the spare was £190 from Seat. I got a new one with jack and brace kit for £130 delivered next day on eBay.

Crikey. My spare is 13 years old, and I still use it occasionally. :)
