Update to Windows 10 v1903?

I'm on v1809 at the moment and it updates automatically every few weeks. On looking at the Windows Update page it says that 1903 is available with a link to click to install this. This was not there last time I looked a few weeks ago

If I do nothing will the normal update process install this or do I need to click the link? Is it wise to update or would it be better to stay on 1809 for a while longer?

I've updated 2 laptops to 1903 in the last week and both went without any problems.

Just give yourself a few hours to run the entire process unless you are happy to leave it to run overnight.

The invitation link shouldn’t cause a problem, as per other replies it’s always a good idea to keep up to date to minimise the risks from malware, etc.

Windows updates don’t always end up problem free, I’ve had to manually install a graphics card driver after Windows used a generic driver resulting in poor graphics. You are unlucky if something doesn’t work correctly afterwards, make a full backup before updating.

Thanks everyone for giving me the confidence to bite the bullet. I've just updated and all seems to have gone well.
