Tesco insurance renewal

We changed our car in March and expected the insurance for the new car ( bigger, and newer ) would be more expensive this year.

The quote came in last night at £450- up from £200 for the previous car.

An online quote for the same company came out at £294.

On phoning husband was told he did the right thing. They use several underwriters but the renewal is always with the same underwriter as before. But if you go online then a search of several underwriters will come up with the cheapest quote.

Result - renewal now £292.34.

I knew about getting a cheaper quote but did not realise it was be cause different under writers were used by the one company.
