    In my second hearing (first was rescheduled) the cost of the barrister was £250.00. He tried to claim that but the judge said 'no costs'. What happened in my case was that the judge put the situation back to what would have happened on the day if I had been able to pay (machine was not working). He thought that it should have been sorted out.

    I don't think that all judges realise just how aggressive these parking companies are.

    For the benefit of the OP - this result achieved by Snakes Belly (ie, just the price of the actual P&D ticket - £3.00) is unheard of previously on the forum (to my recollection), and I've read virtually every thread and comment posted on here over the past 6.5 years.
    Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

    I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

    On the same car park, Keep Calm and Carry on won and was awarded costs. Different circumstances and a different court and judge. Many judges use common sense but occasionally there will be a judge who adopts a similar approach to Popla and IAS.

    There are currently two ongoing cases relating to this car park dating back to 2015.

    1. An example of what you could lose, lets say if you were being asked for £160 from an original charge of £100
    2. Are there any facts or links to cases where this has been shown (rather than hearsay)
    Search the forum for:

    Judge lost

    and change the ADVANCED search to SHOW RESULTS AS POSTS.

    You may have to read a few results but these two words should find the rare cases where people have reported a loss in front of a Judge. Usually by people who are so badly prepared (or have a dodgy Judge) that they get ordered to pay about £250 because they haven't properly argued about anything, including the fake costs.

    I recall that phoenixfreespirit was a poster who lost as she couldn't show the Judge how PPS had failed to invoke the POFA, despite the fact she wasn't driving. Bad preparation is what usually goes wrong, as that was an old non-POFA PPS case, it should have been easier to win.

    Your case is not about £160 and as long as you know how to argue against the £60 fake add-on, then even if you are among the rare 1% who report a loss, then even a lost case should be pegged at £100 plus about £50 court fees.

    @Umkomaas

    I think that the decision would have gone in my favour if the barrister had not (in true Excel style) chucked their toys out of the pram. Ironical that the PPC's and their representatives are the first to shout bias. The motorist has to continually put up with bias from the appeal's system in almost every case that goes to IAS.

    The judgement in my case reminded me a bit of a book that I had read some years ago by Leon Uris called QB V11. It's about a defamation case that is bought against an author and it's worth a read. The background to the case though is quite harrowing.
