I'm looking for a non bio washing powder at a good price does anyone have any tips I had been pointed in the direction of Aldi powder but looked on their website and a lot of the reviews said it hadn't been dissolving in machine drawer very well for a lot of people,as for Lidl they do one called Formil, but I can't remember if that's the one that I used that seemed to fade colours quickly
I'm also going to buy softener this weekend so if anyone knows a good value nice scent that doesn't clog up a machine and pointers there would be appreciated, many thanks

I just buy whatever is on offer.

For softener I always use half or even quarter (depending on how thick it is originally) and add water to mix with it before putting in the drawer.

Personally I never put powder in the drawer as all brands seem to clog up....I put it straight into the machine on top of the clothes at the back of the drum

    And that’s ok?
God if it is I might go bank to loose powder - I prefer it to liquid.
The only reason I get liquid is I hate the mucky drawer.

We use Aldi tablets (which are presumably just compressed powder) in the drawer, and I've never noticed any signs of clogging.

I suppose non-bio is prone to fading clothes a bit due to the way it works. But perhaps some are worse than others
  • We currently use the Aldi 2 in 1 bio powder in the drawer of the machine and have never had a problem with it clogging and have previously used the non-bio powder without issues. We found the Tesco powder always left a substantial amount in the drawer after use

@ OP. I have bought ALDI supermarket washing stuff and I didn't like it.

There are a few things I have learned. Don't but cheap dishwasher tablets as your crockery gets scratched. Don't buy cheap washing powder as it damages your clothes, usually by taking the colours out. Cheap fabric conditioner is another thing I don't do and the final one for me is toothpaste.

It these categories I will always stick to a brand.

Why mix it with water when it's going to be mixed with water anyway? I have heard people say this before about diluting the bottle down so they have more but they don't as it's mixed with water anyway.

I use any powder on offer along with fabric conditioner full dose here. Normally bought at home bargain. I also put everything in together, mixed colours and all.

If your drawers manky take it out and clean it, leave the door open to. People do use to much powder a tablespoon is enough.
