Hi Everyone,
I was wondering if anyone had any advice. I do apologise for my inexperience this is my first time posting.
A parking charge notice was received on the 28/06/2019 after the ‘offence’ was committed on 26/05/2019. Initially I was very confused by the letter as I knew I had paid. On revisiting the carpark I realised the signage in the car park was very misleading and I realised what had gone wrong. I was meant to pay before I parked not after even though it was not a pay and display carpark , and the charge on the screen was not what I was supposed to pay obviously because I was meant to do it before parking I needed to pick the charge. I was not the only person in the carpark confused by this. I only realised because the ticket came out with an hour ahead on it. This resulted in me underpaying by 50 p. The ticket has also been received 32 days later from the incident. I did initially appeal on grounds that I thought they were accusing me of not paying. But when I realised what had happened after revisiting the carpark I couldn’t appeal again. Do you think it’s worth appealing on the misleading signs with POPLA and receiving the notice after 28 days or should I just got ahead and pay the discounted rate. May I add I was also attending a medical appointment in a very stressful situation where I thought I was possibly loosing my baby.
I have read the newbies post and don’t feel it fulfils all of this criteria.
I’d appreciate your help and any advice you have.

Send a PM to a board guide (Crabman, Savvy or Soolin) and ask for this to be moved to the Parking sub-forum.0

It was a car park where you pay before you stay but don’t have to display your ticket. Which I obviously didn’t realise as the signs were misleading. So in return to the car park to get in my car I put my number plate in and paid the charge on the screen. But subsequently this wasn’t enough because you’re meant to do this before and put in the amount of time you wish to stay.0 -

How does that work then? Surely, in order to pay you need to park first. I am totally confused by post number 4. How do you know in advance how long you need to pay for?You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0 -
Nope still lost... You paid what charge on the screen? If its a pay before then there wont be a charge because you wont have parked yet?
You buy a ticket for x time and drive away before that time is up.. Going back to the machine it wont say you have parked for x hours and the charge is £££ if you need to pay first.
Got a picture of the signs at the carpark?Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
Oh dear you seem to have jumped the gun and outed yourself as the driver you have shot yourself in the foot with that and could have had an easy win.
You are now going to rely on signage and the other POPLA arguments to be found in the newbies thread.0 -
Which PPC is this and did you definitely blab about who parked?PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
