Possible Paypal scam? Probably not, but advice needed.

Hi.
I'm not sure if this could be some sort of scam and I'm not sure if I have the right forum but here goes.
I've never been targeted for an email scam, and I am highly tuned to spotting scams. No Nigerian Prince is going to get me ever!:rotfl:
However, I received an email saying that a small amount of money had been mistakenly paid into my Paypal and that they wanted it refunding urgently (Scam alert bells started ringing). It is under £10. They said that the intended email address was slightly different and should have contained a dot which got left out, thus ending up going to me instead.
I don't keep a positive Paypal balance. It is always zero and if I make a Paypal payment, it is funded from the associated card account. Currently, my Payal now shows a positive balance of this amount together with the transaction detail, and the name and email address of the payee.
I'm probably being paranoid and I'd like to click on 'refund' (I logged in directly via browser by the way so it is genuinely in my account).
I can't see how refunding a small amount which has just appeared can harm me in any way but the words 'Paypal' and 'Email' and 'refund' all seem so well associated with scams these days.
The person stated that if this isn't done iminently, they will open a case with Paypal.
Am I okay to click on 'refund' or is something going on here?
Thanks in advance.

Why don't you phone PP and ask them? Use the number from their website not the email.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.0
