Today it's six months since Economy Energy went bust

After six months, I still do not have a final correct bill from Ovo. The Economy Energy receivers have done a good job in producing a bill which is perfectly correct. Ovo's bill appears to recognise the Economy Energy credit, but its statements are based upon different readings. Anyway, since Ovo opted to impose its highest prices on ex-Economy Energy customers, I switched some months ago to Octopus.

I have learnt a lot of lessons from this total process (and total mess). I saved several hundred pounds in moving to Economy Energy but that is only because they got their contracts and pricing wrong. It was all very high maintenance enforcing the contract, but top marks go to OFGEM and to the special help unit of the Citizens Advice Bureau. The most ineffective party is the Ombudsman whose process cuts in so late in the day that all of the industry ill deeds have taken place before the Ombudsman has woken up.
