It does seem quite a chore to spend 6 months stressing for the sake of 60 quid though.

It is, but nine times out of ten these tickets are scams and the scammers trouser millions each year for unlawful claims so at the very least, get your MP involved.

Parliament is well aware of the MO of these private parking companies, and on 15th March 2019 a Bill was enacted to curb the excesses of these shysters. Codes of Practice are being drawn up, an independent appeals service will be set up, and access to the DVLA's date base more rigorously policed, persistent offenders denied access to the DVLA database and unable to operate.

Hopefully life will become impossible for the worst of these scammers, but until this is done you should still complain to your MP, citing the new legislation.

Just as the clampers were finally closed down, so hopefully will many of these Private Parking Companies.
You never know how far you can go until you go too far.

Shall we pay the fine then because it's hopeless?
No. It is not a fine and not hopeless.

Did you miss what I said? It is only the appeal that is a farce and will be lost (so what!).
The friend will be able to win the case (99% likely) in court if they try, as long as the person who gave permission appears as a witness and as long as the person posts here - ONLY if they get a court claim.

The only easier avenue is to complain to the Managing Agents about the harassment and hope they will cancel it if the resident asks quickly. Some contracts allow for a few to be cancelled by the landowner each week.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

  • Hi guys,

It's been two whole months since we appealed this directly to CPMS and received no response, what are the options now? I'm assuming they know they can't win in court so have let us off but not told us.. or maybe we will get a response eventually or a higher fine?
