                    more of a rant really
sold a new sealed widget 3 weeks ago several days later buyer says it developed a issue and local shop said its faulty so they opened a return which i accepted
turned up today, different item sent back and that ones been taken apart at some point, he even included a note to say exactly what was wrong with it, thing is the widget was a slightly special one so easy to see it was a different one he sent back as i don't think he would have known the difference
anyway phoned ebay who issued the buyer a refund (£90) and i kept the funds and item too (which i binned), i just don't understand why people try it on and get a new item for their faulty one
want to rant at the buyer but i am sure that would get me back feedback
asked ebay to make a note on the buyers account so if hes a regular at it hes going to get caught at some point
blocked him too
cheeky git

You were lucky. When this happened to me, Ebay refunded the buyer with my funds and gave me a defect on my account. I ended up with an item that I didn't sell.0

There have always been people trying (and succeeding) to get something for nothing and all that has changed since eBay was set up is that there are now far more sellers and more availability of goods so far more opportunities for these people.
They know that a good majority of disputes will go in their favour and even if they don't, there won't be any legal comeback on them if they give it a go and fail.0
