in Credit cards
I have also posted this in loans cos its a bit of both really.
I need £13000 which can be paid back within a year. I know there are cards that do 0% intrest but im not to sure how this works as ive never had a credit card before and am only 19. My income is sufficient enough to pay it off within a year but i need the money now and don't know what my best option is.
Could anyone advise me on this please?
thanks

If you have never had a credit card before its very unlikely your going to get a £13000 advance. Have you had credit before? Are you on the electoral role?.....
If you have a bank account then approach your bank would be best way forward. Cant see you getting much elsewhere in the current climate....0 -
You could try what i did and approach more than one bank.
You will need to be careful as you shouldn't really have more than 3 credit checks on your file in a 6 month period, otherwise your credit rating will be affected.
Depending on who your current provider is will allow us to see what banks you cannot use (same card provider) but it might be possible with splitting it over 2/3 cards.
I got 2 cards with about 6.5k with a 15k salary and no defaults on my record
As you haven't had a credit card before (is this a loan amount?) i would suggest first checking your Credit history at experian (free). Just remember to cancel within 30 days. After falling off the gambling wagon (twice): £33,600 (24,000+ 9,600) - Original CC Debt: £7,885.91
Dad Gift 6k ¦ Savings & Inv Tst: £2,500
Loan 10k: £0 ¦ Dad 5.5k: £2,270 ¦ LTSB: £0 ¦ RBS: £0 ¦ Virgin £0 ¦ Egg £0
Total Owed: £2,270 (+6k) 11/08/20110
