Removing bathroom light cover

Hi,
I need to replace my bathroom lightbulb but I'm having so much difficulty with removing the cover.
I've tried everything; unscrewing (both clockwise and anti-clockwise), unscrewing (whilst pushing the cover up), and also tried to lift up one of the sides by placing a screwdriver head in the little gap.
Can anyone help me please, I'm desperate over here.
Thank you lots!

Some have a little slot in the side , you need to insert a flathead screwdriver in it to releaseEx forum ambassador

I've had one in the past when you just need to just pull it off . Obviously be careful not to rip the whole thing out . It's sort of held by some kind of spring .0

We used to have one in the bathroom that had a locking bar through it, there was one end of it that was bent down at 90 degrees about 10mm long, you had to pull that out about 20mm.0

Hi, thank you all for your replies. I've tried pulling it off but I'm worried I'll pull the whole thing off the wall. I've tried unscrewing but it just unscrews endlessly. I cannot post any photos as I am a new member.
The cover is kind of like a plastic bowl, about 2inch deep and 8 inch in diameter
Thanks!0
