PPI Complaints - accounts opened online

Hi
I know I am VERY late to this but I was absolutely convinced I never had PPI. I’ve spent the last four months helping my mum and dad sort there complaints (they were going to use a CMC!) and my mum convinced me last week to just clarify with each of the lenders that I didn’t have it.
Anyway, turns out I had PPI on majority of my accounts I had and I was genuinely so shocked! They are all closed accounts which I had around 2004/2005 to 2011.
I’m pretty sure my Barclaycard and MBNA Card were both opened online, along with a Littlewoods and Very account.
Has anyone had success with PPI complaints with accounts that were opened online?
Many thanks in advance

Odd that you didn't know you had PPI, considering that it would have appeared on every monthly statement when your account had a balance and it would have been itemised on a separate line. You can't complain about PPI simply because you've forgotten about it I'm afraid.
Only if the box selecting PPI was pre-populated would you stand any chance of successfully arguing that you were mis-sold. Unfortunately, the dates you quote are outside those when pre-ticked boxes were used.0 -
Thanks for your reply Moneyineptitude.
To be honest with you, I was young and a daft and never really looked at my statements other than to find out how much left I had to spend - not proud of my irresponsible spending and management of accounts but I genuinely never realised I had it.0 -
