Cash back - Wrong way round

Options
I have a MS cash back card, it offers cash-back of 1% up to £2000 per year and 0.5% over £2000. I often thought that this was the wrong way round to encourage you to spend more.
Surely they should be offering you/me a higher % the more we spend.

The cashback on my MS has gone loopy.

Not sure how, but they're currently say they're going to give me an amount of cashback, which when calculated out equates to about 2% on the total spend this period.
