Decreasing term insurance

I’ve tried to claim a refund for a decreasing term insurance sold to me at the time I took out my mortgage. RBS says I signed to say no insurance was advised but it definitely was.
I know it’s my fault for signing but wasn’t aware of the importance of it.
Does it stop me qualifying for a refund?
RBS says it does
Thanks for any advice

Why are you asking for a refund?

Is there something wrong with the policy?
  • I had critical illness, sickness insurance and death in service already so really didn’t need it

Life insurance is rarely mis-sold - most people are very undercovered.

The only overlap it would have with your existing cover is death in service, but that is job specific so can be lost at any time.

When it comes to a mortgage, it's nearly always a very good idea.
  • Thanks for your help. I’m not good with these things at all... prob a bit obvious
