Sofa repair

I would like to ask some advice
I have bought a sofa from furniture village 2 years ago around £1.4k, however, the leather coating is peeling off some places due to wear and tear or the bad quality.
Hey requested me to pay £55 for the technician call out to check and see if it is due to manufacturer fault and if it is repairable. And I have bought guardsman protection and they told me it is covered in this scenario as it is not an accidental damage. So basically it will be either wear and tear or manufacturer fault.
As I am thinking their sofa is crap quality and doesn’t last many years. Should I pay for the call out charge and see what is the outcome or I should call independent soda repair to repair my sofa instead ?
Thanks
Tony

£55 or pay a lot more for an independant repair .
You may lose £55 or may gain a free repair for £55 .0 -
55 pounds is only the call out fee for technician not including repair fee0

Real leather does not peal, this is low quality bonded “leather” which is not reparable. I think I would get my own independent inspection.0

This exactly. My sofa is 19 years old and looks as good as the day I bought it, working in the trade did allow me an advantage of knowing what to buy, but I've given up trying to advise friends and family as they never listen.0
