If you have a machine which has been modified (as that was all the company offered at the time) but you would rather have a replacement (as have heard cases of modified machines starting fires), under the recall rules do you have the right to ask for a replacement? Their site doesn't give this option

I am horrified to discover the dryer I was given as part of the recall back in 2017 is also a recalled dangerous dryer!!! To add insult to injury I paid £99 to have an upgraded model. I was using a drier provided by Whirlpool thinking it was safe and it could have caused a fire!!!!
