It would seem I Have a corrupt SD card that will not connect. I have tried cleaning the brass head but has not worked. Are there any programs I could try running to at least recover my data which is mainly music. Stupidly I did not back up my music so Unless It can be recovered it will be lost. Thank you for any advise. I have had the SD for over 6 months and until I tried adding some more music through my PC last weekend it worked fine. I use the SD card on my Samsung tablet.

Try RECUVA and others .0

Where did the music come from initially? Did you rip it from CDs? Amazon? iTunes? Somewhere else?
With the price of SD being so cheap its probably going to be quicker to just get a new SD card and refill it if you have access to the original source of the music.0 -
I am encountering exactly the same issue. Cleaning the heads did not work. a lot of my music was downloaded from U Tube or friends CDs so starting again does not really help. I will try Recuva as suggested and see if that helps. If not is there anything else that might be worth trying. I have no idea why suddenly my SD card would not connect on my tablet or to the appropriate drive on my PC. It just come up no SD card.0

+1 for Recuva.
As I type I am using it to Restore 825,430 files from a colleagues corrupted laptop drive which he hasn't backed up in 11 years.
If it doesn't work , or fails to find any files, you may need to recreate the partition and re-format the drive (with a quick format, not a full format) and then use the "deep scan"option to scan the entire card for data.
This approach worked perfectly in my case.
435,160 files recovered so far and counting....
• The rich buy assets.
• The poor only have expenses.
• The middle class buy liabilities they think are assets.0 -

Because SD cards are cheap, effectively disposable. They only have a finite life span because they can only be written to and from so many times. They are not suitable for long term storage. Much like anything else in this world if its important to you, don't keep the only copy of something on an SD card.0 -
Anything on USB sticks or memory cards or SSD's for that matter must have a backup if you cannot afford to lose it.
They often die with little warning and the data has gone, your not getting it back 99% of the time. If your lucky it maybe a bit of moisture or a solder joint otherwise your data has gone.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
Try it on multiple devices, borrowing them from others if you can.
If it's a micro card, try it directly in devices and with a full-size adaptor, in case one way works and not the other.0
