Deceased Parents

Hi, Any help greatly appreciated, I am executor to my mother's estate and there was no PPI under her name. However, possibly any PPI would have been under my fathers name who pre-deceased her. Because my father knew he was going to die he 'set his house in order' and there was no will and no probate was required.
How do I check if there is any PPI to claim in my father's name before going through the admin process and any associated costs. I've tried the bank he used but said they we're unable to help under the Data protection Act.

Thanks

Even if your father had a PPI policy, you wouldn't claim on it, if anything, it would be a complaint, unfortunately it sounds like this is a non-starter.

This means any records of this deceased person's accounts have been deleted.

I'm afraid you'll therefore never know whether your Dad had PPI unless you can find some evidence amongst your parents's own archive.
