Wills

Hi, In 2007 my wife and myself made a will, we went with a company called National Legal Services, not to be confused with(National Legal Service). After a resent sad passing of a family member it came into my mind that Ii should check our will especially as my kids are older now so wanted to make sure everything is ok. The company mentioned held our will for a one of yearly fee. Tried to call the company with the numbers we have but to no avail, Tried google but nothing.Rang our bank but they couldn't help so have cancelled our yearly fee and see what happens which will be nothing I fear. Anybody else had any issues with this company and is there any other way I can search this person out? Have also tried company house but nothing.

Just get new wills done by a local solicitor - they will hold it for you free of charge (or keep it yourself if you wish).

    Don't get ripped off again.

(but you may want to check what the contract you signed with this company says about cancelling/notice to give etc. ....make sure they don't come back to bite you).

We will get new wills made up asap but what worries me is what if he has written something into the wills that we don't know about? And we most definitely wont get ripped of again. Thanks

I'm a retired IFA who specialised for many years in Inheritance Tax, Wills and Trusts. I cannot offer advice now, but my comments here and on Legal Beagles as Sam101 are just meant to be helpful. Do ask questions from the Members who are here to help.

Presumably you read the will before signing it? Whether or not you did, a new will negates the old one, so just get on with new wills and it'll be fine.
