Extra Energy Small debt should I pay ?
I have received a small outstanding bill from the creditors for the collapsed Extra Energy for £60 outstanding.
I have not kept copies of old invoices and they cannot provide any historic bills only a outstanding bill.
I've disputed this as it is a summer invoice and i'm usually in credit for hundreds but have no proof of this.
Question. Should I pay these ?
Cheers
Al

If its owing it will likely eventually catch up with you.
I'd ask for a bit more paper from them though about said monies due perhaps.
I'm not one to withold anything that I can pay, however if the "boot was on the other foot" so to speak, I'm sure you would like the money back from them.
Just put the money to one side so if its asked for then you can just pay it I suppose.0 -
You need to request that they send you a proper bill rather than just a demand for payment with no backup info.
However, you should really have kept your own info (bills and meter readings) so you can challenge their demands. You can argue with them but in the end, do you owe them money and would you be annoyed
a) if they owed you money and refused to pay it to you, or
b) how upset would you be if they decided to put a default on your credit history which caused you problems in the future.Never under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers0 -
As above debt collectors and trashing your credit history for six years worth the risk ??0

Thanks Everyone reluctantly I have paid off as I cannot disprove and for the small amount don't want negative credit rating.
Lesson learnt. Keep my Bills.
