Building credit rating 19

Hi, so I am wanting to build a credit score around 600-700 as I need this requirement to finance a Range Rover Velar. I am 19 and just applied for a credit card I am wondering a couple of things: I understand that I have to pay the balances off each month on time etc but how else can I increase my score quickly/ how long would it take more or less to get to 600-700. Is their any other tips I could take to decrease this time frame etc.

Thank you once again

Make sure you're on the ER. Time will do the rest.

Ignore your credit score - it's not a real measure of anything and not used by lenders. It doesn't matter if it's 1, 600, or billion. There is no score requirement for Range Rovers.

Lenders will look at your credit history - the longer and the better, the lower risk you will appear.

19 years old, looking for credit - and looking to achieve a specific credit score - in order to buy a Range Rover ????

OP, as long as the car you're buying is a nice Dark colour, it doesn't Matter in the least what your credit score is. Make sure to allow a bit extra so you can specify the optional Rear Brake Pack.

On the offchance that this isn't a wind-up, I'm intrigued to know what leads you to believe you need a specific credit score. We see plenty of posts saying "How can I increase my score" - which, as has been stated a thousand times, is totally irrelevant - but why are you aiming for a specific score ? Has a salesman told you this ? Quite apart from the fact that the different Credit Reference Agencies use different rating scales anyway (marks out of 5 or a scale of 1 - 1000 for example). And I dread to think what the insurance premiums on a Range Rover for a 19 year old would be !

Im pretty sure the quickest way of you getting that score will not involve buying a Range Rover on tick.

Where did you get the information you need a credit score of 600 to 700 ?

    Why a Range Rover ?

Quoted me 1.8k without a black box with my family members I guess we live in a private road so less risk. I’ve always had luck on insurance because I got insured on a 2.0 for 1.5k when I passed so I guess it’s luck
  • Then save up some more until you're ready to buy it outright
