Gers, I do not know if this is a possibility but could you get your Mum into respite care for a week to give you a chance to go home and recharge the batteries. I know how wearing it can be looking after someone, I have been doing it for the last 30 years. It might help if you get her GP on board.
I was happy with the care that OH got the last week before he came home, it was less travelling for me to go to see him and they did get him back on his feet........0 -

Thanks for the thought csarina - DM wouldn't be happy in a strange place and I probably wouldn't be able to relax! Since the 'storm' last week she's been much less demanding and cross so things have calmed down. I make the effort to go out every day, there will come a time when that won't be as easy to do so I'm making the most of it.
My trip out to Kelvingrove was thwarted - the place is closed because of an electrical fault! There were loads of tourist coaches turning up, spewing out various nationalities of visitors before loading them up again to go somewhere else. I'll check the website again tomorrow. I just went to a cafe for some breakfast and then came home.
DM wanted her hair cut...I managed to cut the back in a fairly straight line and then trimmed her fringe. No layers or anything fancy. Her already extremely thin hair is now beginning to fall out too.
Right, I'm off to read more of '111 places to visit in Glasgow' for my next trip.0 -
Just a quickie from me to let you all know that little grand daughter came home from hospital on Monday after almost 4 weeks! DD has to connect her up to her milk for 10 hours at night and then for anther 6 hours through the day. Then when she has put on enough weight she will go back into hospital where they will try to bottle feed her and just see what happens. It's a lot of work and stress for DD but she's happy to be home.
We can see little one filling out already.0 -
Just popping back to say the decorating is going well DH did the ceiling but found it hard so DS is coming round later to do the final coat.
We bought a carpet this afternoon. It is a temnant so not too expensive but then thete is new underlay, a gripper rod and fitting and taking away the old carpet and underlay so that all adds up. It is being fitted on Monday. We used a local warehouse/showroom as I don't like those great big carpet places full of pushy salesmen.
Oh and it looks like I am getting a new roof for.my 45 wedding anniversary. So much for the nice holiday i was hoping for lol.
Well better go as I am babysitting fot DD while she goes to a yoga taster.
Have a good evening all.

Good to hear your news dp1.
49 years married today........we are going out for the day tomorrow for lunch and a poke around a town we rarely visit.
Overcast but warm here today and then an extremely heavy shower around 5.30....there are 40 shades of green just in the back garden, so some benefit.
Roast beef, mash and cauliflower cheese for dinner, really enjoyed it.
Thank you all for being my friends
