Hi All ,
We are just in the process of renovating our newly bought house.
We are knocking internal wall between dining living so have to relocate 2 radiators, plastering , painting , laminate flooring also need to be done.
Our plan is to go for grey theme for the living/ dining and plan to buy 400 mm vertical radiatotrs.( preferably black )
Are designer radiators better than designer?
Any suggestions which radiators to buy and from where?
Thanks in advance.

Calculate the BTUs required first.
Best Heating have a half decent calculator on their website.
Then you can also run a search on the suitable radiators with that output.
Different colours, even if they're the same size, can have wildly varying output. It goes without saying that radiators of differing sizes will have differing output, so you really need to see what is available that will be both warm enough, and fit!Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Calculate the BTU and then get a few brochures from some local plumbers merchant. Doing that this week myself actually0

Height = 2.45m
Width = 3.45 m
Combined Length = 7.1m
Patio Window and one more window area = 6.10 Sq Meter
One door 78 inches x 30 inches
Bestheating website says 5628 BTU and 1649 Watts
I plan 4 of these ( will these be enough)

Is this brand OK?

I am looking at this radiator
https://www.bestheating.com/milano-alpha-black-vertical-double-designer-radiator-1780mm-x-420mm-37112
5,626 BTU's (1,649 Watts)
I am planing for 4 radiators but as per BTU calculation and the BTU mentioned it looks only obe radiator is enough for the whole livinng/dining lounge, or to to be on the safer side even if I intall 2 radiaotors they will be enough.
Hope I am doing the calculation right.0 -
Designer radiators are not necessarily any better at being a radiator than a normal radiator except that they might have a great design you like and therefore choose to pay for.
Normal white panel rads are cheap for a reason - they are manufactured in enormous quantities. Designer radiators offer many more options making then smaller volume product and hence more expensive. You also pay for the brand.
Once you have worked out your heat requirement, look into aluminium rads, they put out more heat compared to steel ones and are sleeker designs. You will also find that they are more compact for the required heat output and worth the little bit extra.We’ve had to remove your signature. Any Suggestion on this one

I looked at the Best Heating site a couple years back, when I thought of doing similar to you. I was concerned about their connection with the brand of radiators and looked into who owned both websites, seemed they were linked. Still appear vague on being one of a 'few' dealers. No idea if this is good or bad, of course.
Not sure if they have changed any information now, but I wanted vertical radiators - they detailed on the website, to not worry that fitting instructions supplied, were for horizontal installation, as it could be mounted whichever way a customer required. I'd have expected that to be in writing somewere, from the outset.
Ended up with Screwfix, as they have lots of options, plus a good chance they will actually have decided which way up things should be used!!

Can anyone suggest steel radiators are better or aluminium ones?0
