noise from newly installed air-con in a business property

A quick update. The company installed a cowl which has significantly reduced the noise. It is still there, a low buzzing, a constant annoyance specially at night, but I suppose I will have to learn to live with it. It would be no longer classified as satutory noise. What annoyes me most though is that yesterday I received by post a consultation letter on the submission of the planning application as a proposed work, and it is now possible to comment on it. The work has been completed 3 weeks ago, the orginal application was in April, so why consult now and not then! If the consultation to 'relevant properties' had been done at the appopriate time, perhaps the air-con could have been installed in a different part of the building, as 3 sides have no residential properties in front of them. I will submit my comments anyway.0

I really feel for you. I am noise sensitive and I think this would drive me insane. I really hope you can get it sorted.0 -

Definitely object on the basis of noise, and point out that their attempts so far to reduce it to an acceptable level have all failed.
Even if the noise is not that loud, if it's constant, especially at night, it's a problem and they should fix it. There are still things they can do, like installing extra sound insulation or putting up barriers like foliage.0 -
The noise from the air-con systems saga is still going on! The noise is now getting louder again. Looking at the planning application, the request is only for the removal of a glass window and installation of a cowl, not for the air-con itself. My understaning is that no permission is necessary for installation of the air-con. So if I object to the planned work I will be infact objecting to the installing of the noise reducing cowl. I am at my wits end on what my rights are at this point. The company is not responding, and it is drving me insane0
