To advertise financial products to the general public they must either be FCA authorised or have their material checked and approved by an FCA registered company. Neither appears to be the case.

They say that all transactions are through FCA registered banks. And that all capital is 100% guaranteed. If these aren't true, are they breaking the law?

They can't advertise at all unless they are FCA registered or a FCA registered company has approved their web site/brochures.

It doesn't matter whether the company they eventually pass you on to is FCA registered or not.

Their marketing says they are "AM Invest Services is one of the top leading access points to the highest standard of regulated fixed income bonds" and "FCA Guarantee on Investment
100% Capital secure and your returns are 100% guaranteed" and "Upto 85.000 Per Person Cover With Goverment FSCS (note typo).

Its a scam, the people that wrote the website are not based in the UK and don't care about the law.

What do you think? I'm curious as to how you judge a promotion such as this, if it is genuine - how can you tell and if it's a scam how can you tell.

    Thanks in advance.

Like those before me I think it is a scam.

How to judge a promotion such as this?

From what I have seen they often fall at the very first test.

Do they look like what they claim to be.

The only "safe" fixed rate bond/account is one offered by a bank or building society which is covered by the FSCS protection of up to £85k at the moment.

Anywhere else you just hope your money will be returned.

The highest safe 5 year fixed rate account at the moment is = 2.75%

    The FTSE 100 dividend yield = 4%

The higher the yield the higher the risk!

So this these bonds are not being offered by a bank or building society and they are a higher risk than the FTSE 100.

    Failed the test!

You do not need to dig any deeper.

My IFA asked them and they said they were not registered but all their products were. Surely you need to be registered to offer this service, legit or otherwise.

Considering your IFA has told you that they are a scam I'm not sure what you're expecting from people here or the reason for questioning it. Stick to regulated investments from mainstream companies and you shouldn't go far wrong. Try to find guaranteed high rate investments like LCF and you are likely to come a cropper

Plenty of gobbledegook on their site...

"Fixed Returns 4.79% to 6.75%. All returns are linked to an Index of leading investment funds."

So is it fixed, or is it linked to an index? It can't be both!

"There are many highly rated fixed income products paying above average rates that most savers will just not know about or have immediate access to, these income products are from various institutions which have a history of googleconsistent returns and security."

LOL, accidentally copy-pasting the word 'google' is a bit of a giveaway that you're just cobbling together some stuff that sounds a bit like what banks say.

"AM Invest Services is one of the top leading access points to the highest standard of regulated fixed income bonds in the market place."

"Will this do? It sounds like what banks say."

I guess it depends on the law of the country they're operating from. It's unlikely to be the UK.
