Advice Needed RE Blue Badge & Parking Bays

Hey all, so I’m trying to find out about some issues relating to the Blue Badge Scheme, Ownership of a vehicle and Parking Laws within Scotland.


My mother recently received a council warning letter regarding misuse of her Blue Badge for her car parking in the Disabled Parking Bay outside of her house.



Now while I'm the one that drives the car (I’m her carer and use the car to pick her up, take her out places and obviously drop her off and walk her back to the house when we get back) the car is entirely in her name, all documents etc are registered at her address and all payments associated with the car go out of her bank account.


Would that not mean the car, seeing as its mum's, can be parked at her property legally and not subject to warnings RE the blue badge.

Did they say what exactly constituted the “misuse” of the blue badge?

Are they aware that your mum has a motability scheme car in her name? Maybe they think she’s giving her visitors her blue badge for parking?
