Economy 7 heaters
Options
Hi i have just had economy 7 heaters installed, not too sure how they work, read the instrustions/manual etc!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
difinately on economy 7 tarriff - had checked, but is it right that the heaters are hot at night (8pm) than they are throughout the day. have input on 4 and output on 4, i'm i meant to change the output at night???
I am at home throughout the day, and need the heating on at daytime rather than evening, should this be a problem??
on my own and dont know what i should be doing?

thanks for your re,ply, but i am finding it too hot at night - heaters are too hot to touch and night and through the day when i need the heat they are not so hot. should i be turning down just the output at night to 1, then turning up to 4 in the morning when i need the heat or turning both input and output down to 1 at night. at present the house is too cold throughout the day and too hot at night. cant seem to crasp this system.0

Sadly that's the problem with storage heaters, they charge up at night, usually between 1 am and 8 am, So at 8 in the morning when they are fully charged they will be at their hottest.
The output control works a flap inside the heater, setting it to a low value delays the time when the flap opens and allows more heat to be released. To conserve heat till later in the day set it to a low value.
The input or charge control regulates the amount of heat that is stored during the night. So when the weather is cold these need to be set higher.
They are a bit hit or miss I'm afraid, that's the nature of the beast.
PS make sure you have a time switch on your immersion heater to take advantage of the night rate as well. That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
You should set the output to the lowest possible, except when you need a boost of heat during the day.
It is especially important to turn it to zero before you go to bed, otherwise you will overheat your home at night, and not store enough heat for the day ahead.0 -
i always leave my output on 1, and the heat lasts all day, gets a bit chilly at about 8 pm thowins so far:- absolutely nothing, not even an arguement:mad:0
