Voluntary termination hp

After a bit of advice if poss guys.

I've repaid over 50% of my car and decided to hand it back executing my right of VT.

My finance company accepted and said they can either collect the car or I can drop it off at one of their mannheim locations (the nearest one to me being about a 45 min drive).

For collection they have told me it will cost £192!! Surely this is extortionate?or is that the going rate for them to collect the car??

That's my first issue. The second issue I have is the car was already wrapped (mirrors and roof only) when I brought it.

Would I need to pay to get this removed? Or would they try and add this on as a repair?

Originally I financed the car through zuto but the dealership the car was off went into administration a year or so ago so are no longer trading. It was also a delivery dealership as they delivered the car too my door.

My question is would the finance company try and charge me for removal of the wrap? Even though it wasnt done by me and was already on the car when I originally brought? Would the finance company have images of the car before sale? I highly doubt it as I said the dealership has gone bust so I'm not sure what my options are here?

Ibr contacted a wrapping company local to me who have said its about 2 hours worth of labour @ £50 per hour excluding VAT so over 100 pound. But they cannot be held responsible for any paint issues underneath once the wrap is taken off?

Not sure whether to to iust leave the wrap on and explain it was already there upon purchase? What is best to do?

Also can they really charge me £192 for collection??

Thanks

Take it to the depot, if you think it's too much. Or hire a car delivery service yourself.

This was, I presume, documented at the time?

    Documented by whom?

Me? The dealership? Or the finance company?

I obviously noted it myself but didnt tell the finance company as presume they were already aware.

It doesn't state anything in my contract with the finance company about the wrap being on there though?

So not sure what to do in that respect

Have you checked for a valuation from somewhere like WeBuyAnyCar? What are they willing to give for the car?

What is the settlement figure for the finance, and how does the valuation above compare?

About right, they have to pay for a driver to travel to your door, do the paperwork and drive it to where ever and for him to travel back home again.
  • Not "extortinate" no.
It will take two employees to carry out the job, and about two hours of each of their time. Plus the petrol for the car needed to get them to your house and back.
If you feel its so expensive then drop the car back yourself.
