First Direct Internet Banking Plus Closing Down

Just heard this morning that First Direct will be switching off this service on 26th August. This is real pity as I have used this for years without issue, being able to access all my banking from a single login.

Not too happy about having to use an app for the following reasons:

I feel more secure not taking this information with me outside the house.

As I only access from one laptop which is in a relatively secure place so potential for unauthorised access is reduced.

Removal of this service will make me look elsewhere for banking. I don't have an issue with First Direct as their banking has been good, but have stayed with them to access this service. Now its going, maybe time to switch bank.

Anybody else have similar issues, and what alternatives are out there.
