Warranty only 6 months

Good Afternoon,

I bought a powerbank from an UK store and it stopped working after only 8 months. When I contacted the store they said their T&C's state warranties are only 6 months. Isn't the law 1 or 2 years warranty?

Consumer rights last much longer than 6 months but after 6 months it is down to the consumer to prove that the fault was present (i.e. inherent) when the item was bought. To do this you would need to provide an independent report that backs this up.

Rechargeable battery warranty is a grey area, as batteries by their nature have a limited life and that is subject to not being over discharged. What does the manufacturer state the warranty is?

I have an Anker power bank and they have an 18 month warranty, regardless of anything a shop might claim. After all it’s usually the manufacturer that foots the cost of replacement, even when returned to a retailer.

No such law .
As others have said a Warranty is not your Consumer Rights its just a free add on .


Your Consumer Rights is against the store as said .
