I want to buy and download a Prime video (available for purchase,). It's not available to rent or stream from Amazon Prime or Netflix. Ideally I Would download it to my LG (4k) TV direct as .I want to show it to my grandchildren .
I have the Amazon app installed on the TV but am not sure if I can download a purchased film straight from Prime to the tv direct. My TV does not have a built in dvd player.
Ideas?

No TV (that I'm aware of) will have enough memory to hold a movie. You'd need to download it to something like usb stick and play it from there.0

Surely, once you have purchased it, it will be available to view anytime within the Prime app on the TV?Drinking Rum before 10am makes you

As ever the answer is (usually) easy to find:
How to Rent or Buy Prime Video Titles
RumRat is correct ... you're not buying a download, you're buying a licence to watch it anytime within Prime.0 -

Although you can download bought content onto device via the Prime Video App. I download films/shows, via wifi, onto my phone or Kindle Fire to watch when out to save on data usage.0 -
I did see another (Amazon) link that said that too. OP could do that and possibly then cast/mirror share to the TV. But if it's in the Prime account then streaming it via the Prime app on the TV is probably the easiest way.

So if I purchase it, from Amazon, I will automatically get a forever use licence to stream it from Prime videos? Is this then stored in a special area in my Prime account? That would mean I suppose, I could only watch it via Prime?0

Until you close your Amazon account, you will probably need to download it then.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0
