Plot thickens...
Already 60k in debt but want to take another 55k out before husband finds out and stops you? Already been to a solicitor and got a figure which any judge in the land may not agree with? What you think a judge is going to say in court when you do split knowing you racked up hidden debt, took money out of a joint account secretly and made plans to divorce?
*ding* oooh, that's the popcorn ready. Don't do this until I get back from the kitchen, I want to see it all. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
really not helpful your comments, I want to restart my life without your silly pop Corn comments, legally I have been advised by a solicitor and friends , sadly you will never know as I have my reasons but I am not going to talk about on here, remember this is not a 5 year marriage its one thats been for 30 years. Remember in the post I would be paying back in 3k each month for 18 months so hardly taking and not returning joint funds, Funny posted elsewhere and people said pay off asap before legal divorce startsThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. If you have advice from a solicitor I’m not sure why you’re asking here or what you’re hoping to hear?0

Sounds like you are trying to take him for everything he has.
If you can pay off your own debt with your own funds then you should do that, if you can pay the joint account back 3k a month then you can pay your debts back at 3k a month also.0 -
Very true but every debt is double because of interest . This way I can pay it in 17 months rather than a lifetime of debt also I don't want to continue in my current business so can change jobs once I've sorted debtsThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. Sound advice which is worth repeating. And since you don't want opinions (quite rightly) then stick with the professionals.Unlike some here, I am not omniscient. If I am wrong correct me. I won't take offence.
