PIP and Severe Disability Premium question

I recently helped my brother with a claim for PiP. He had previously been getting DLA at the lower rate of care and mobility. He also gets income based ESA.

After filling out the form, attending the face to face with their independent assessor and receiving a call back one week later to answer a few more questions, he was awarded the Enhanced Rater of Pip Care Component and the Lower Rate of PiP Mobility COmponent. To be honest just getting the standard care component was all I expected.

All in all the process started with the letter about Pip ending back in March and the decision was made in June and will commence from end of July.

Last week I got a form through for him about Severe Disability Premium for ESA, which I filled out and sent back. MY only question is: assuming he is entitled to that does it get paid from the date PiP commences or from the date of the decision?

Thanks

If he lives alone or classed as living alone then payments for SDP will start when his DLA ends and not from the date of the PIP decision. This is because DLA is paid for a further 4 weeks after the decision on the PIP.
