A big thank you.

I just want to say a big thank you to everyone who replied and helped me through a bl00dy awful time after father died in late 2017.

Very quick recap - 4 daughters (from 2 marriages), daughters 1+2 very unhappy and angry and bitter that they didn’t get the house. Daughter 4 gave 1+2 a bunch of money to even things up because it was “morally right”.

I put up with the nastiness and lies etc, as the wise owls on here suggested, but kept my mouth shut and my head down. All their talk came to nothing in the end, nothing official ever appeared. I don’t know whether they (1+2) finally took legal advice and were dissuaded, or they knew they were trying it on and had to back down when I failed to give in like my sister did.

I’ve heard nothing from D1+D2 this year. My younger sister D4 was replying to my texts for a while but that’s dried up now too. I expected that to happen but it’s still a shame.

I’ve heard that there’s talk of suing the doctor/hospital/somebody for incompetence/malpractice/something, but I haven’t heard from any of them about it. If it’s true I hope they fail, it’s just more anger and nastiness and trouble.

When sis and I sold the house I moved in with a friend for a while ‘til I bought somewhere to live. I bought a lovely wee house (a very long way from where I was) and have been doing it up these last few months so I’m back on my feet again now.

This has turned into rather a long post when all I really wanted to say was thank you! I can’t imagine where I’d be or what state I’d be in if I hadn’t had all yous to keep me straight :T

Good on you and glad you never bought (IIRC) the initial house you looked at that had potential bullying neighbour problems and this one seems to have worked out well.

I know it’s been a good 18 months since my first post/s, and I wasn’t sure if people would remember it ha haa! I think it’s only polite when folk have gone to the bother of helping and replying (even at silly o’clock in the morning, or to dumb questions) to give an update.

AnotherJoe - That terraced house is Belper has been sold and gone back on the market a couple of times, I sure dodged a bullet on that one!
