    We did it! We're in!

Work is super busy at the moment, so there are boxes everywhere. But we're in. We finally have a new mortgage that we can start overpaying on!

    Hoorah!

Overpaid £900 as that's what I wanted to pay by the end of the year when I thought my mortgage was going to start in September. So, chuffed to bits with that.

Hope everyone is going great with their MF journey. Time to have a gander at all your diaries.

  • Morning all. Just sitting in the little cottage, having coffee, looking around at all the things that need doing. Boxes everywhere. I'm deliriously happy.

The great thing about our mortgage is that online banking makes it super easy to send OPs through. But that does making it very, very tempting. But I mustn't run before I can walk, and I must ensure that I'm able to pay the bills too, before getting overexcited. I guess I've been waiting to be here for such a long time!

Anyhoo, nothing to report. There's quite a bit of spending going on because we needed new furniture. But we've been getting excellent deals on stuff. We've signed up for a new veg box service, which is about £15/week. We'll try it for a bit and see if we're able to use everything up, and if it's not a waste. Other than that, the black cat is happy, the OH is enjoying his new kitchen, and I'm off to see what else I can squirrel away for another OP before the end of the year.

Hope you're all having a great day.

Thanks VF, finally getting some time to actually be here rather than being super busy with work all the time.

Another £1000 OP for me today. All the refunds from various things (council tax, gas and electric etc) have come through, so I've lumped them all together and popped it into the mortgage. I didn't think I would do that, but I'm actually pretty glad I did. It's really fun to see the little statement after you've made the payment that says 'You've reduced your term by two months'. Makes you feel as if I've accomplished something.

The veg box is working out well, we're using everything and eating well and getting out the shops a whole lot less! Win!

Hope you're all getting on well with your goals. Off to catch up on some diaries and change my signature.

    Thanks VF!

That's another OP of £1000 for December and that's it for 2019. I squirrel away every little thing I get. I was hoping to get some overtime for the christmas season, but feel terribly ill, so that didn't go to plan. But according to the op statements, I've cut a full five months off the overall length of my mortgage, which for two months is no bad thing. So I've saved myself some interest in the long run, that's no bad thing.

Anyway, wishing everyone the very best for 2020, all the OPs you can manage and a close MF future for all. :)
