PPI For 20 Year Old Credit Card?

I was missold PPI on my credit card back in 2000. The bank are currently investigating this and I am waiting for a decision. As I have no idea why I had PPI on the card I am certain I will be successful (if I have to go to ombudsman, etc).
Question is this:
I cleared the credit card every month. Does this still mean that there will be funds owed to me? Sometimes 8k passed through the card in a month. I have no idea what additional fees there were but I always paid the card in full.
All advice gratefully received.
warm regards
Richard

Probably not. Generally, if you cleared in full, no PPI was charged.
But it depends on which card you had.
You complaint reason is quite weak if you did have PPI and were charged, as you would have seen PPI every month on your statement, so I wouldn't be too certain of the outcome at this stage.0 -
PPI is only charged on any outstanding balance.
If you paid the card off fully every month then you won't have paid any PPI charges.
If you had been charged, it would have been itemised, clearly, on a separate line on the monthly bill.0 -
I think the complaint reason is ok. I had no idea what PPI was and wouldn't have taken it if I had. I made the same statement to BOS when they called during their investigation.
I can't remember signing anything about PPI even though they said I had. Apparently I ticked a box that said I wanted PPI, but I do not believe I did that.

Then it's possible, if they uphold your complaint, you could get back every penny you've paid, which from what you've posted was zero (+ 8% which still totals £0)0

I expect this one to be an upheld complaint but zero refunded.
No borrowing on the card means no PPI was paid and an upheld decision avoids the FOS fee in case the OP goes to the FOS for some strange reason.0 -

However, what is certain is that you won't get a refund of monies you never actually paid...0 -

It's been twenty years. I may have skipped a payment once or twice. Its worth trying.

So in essence you are complaining that you didn't read the statement that was sent to you each month.....if there was something to complain about of course!I work in Data Protection and spend my days dealing with CMC's. Only here trying to help!!0
