letter before claim

I received 2 parking tickets.... 1 where the driver allegedly overtstayed his or her welcome and the other where the driver allegedly inputted a slightly incorrect number plate.
anyway i was looking into help in not paying at least the former ticket (i have learning disbailties so very easy for me to imput a reg plate by 1 number/letter incorrectly) when the baliffs arrived at the door. My friend was in at the time and desipte her proving she wasnt me, they harrassed her into paying £60.
She has learning disbaility, her native langauge is not english and she has sever mental health issues. PLUS SHE WASNT ME!!!!
Anyway i was furious, so protect her i just paid for both tickets online.
1 year later (at least) i receice a letter from gladstone solicitors "letter before claim"
asking for another £240 for these unpaid tickets.
I have about 6 different accounts which i might have used to pay the bills and 2 have closed down. I dont want to spend months trying to track down the payments, nor do i want to pay more money.
What do i do?
(Ps how do i claim compensation for her? may as well sue the !!!!!!!s while im at it!)

Firstly, please edit your post so that the first sentence reads as follows:I received 2 parking tickets.... 1 where the driver allegedly overtstayed his or her welcome and the other where the driver allegedly inputted a slightly incorrect number plate.
I understand that you have received two parking tickets. Can you confirm whether they are "penalty charge notices" or "parking charge notices"?
"parking charge notices" are issued by private parking companies for alleged parking contraventions on private land.
"penalty charge notices" are issued by local authorities for alleged parking contraventions on public land.
A private parking company would not send bailiffs unless they had won in court already and you had failed to pay the amount specified by the Judge. I suspect that they may have attended because of a "penalty charge notice".
Perhaps you received one ticket of each type. Could you confirm the content of your letter before claim?
- Which company sent it
- What is the date on it
- How many parking tickets are mentioned
If you can upload a photo of the letter, with all identifiable details redacted, that would be very helpful.
Photos of the tickets would be useful too, again with details redacted.0 -
They are both parking charge notices as far as im aware from private compnaies. Sorry its been over a year and i have thrown them away as i beleved this matter to be resolved.
The baliffs visited about 3 months maybe after the ticket come through the door. I was on here trying to get advise.
sorry im a bit slow at this - how do i upload a pic? its asking for a url not a file?0 -

You should be keeping your posts in the thread you already have active for this matter. Making new posts just floods the forum.
Upload pictures of the letters you have received on http://tinypic.com/ and attach the links on your posts. Please redact any personal details which may identify you as PPC's tend to monitor these forums.
Bailiffs? - are you sure this was a private parking ticket, as PPC's cant send out bailiffs to you unless you also have a CCJ against you.0 -
I think so yes as far as im aware the car park in question (it was the same car park) is not council owned. and it was these guys that sent the ticket through - PCN admin Centre/zzps0

Also i havnt noticed a CCJ on my credit history.
i suppose i could ask my friend to check her bank account ( it think she paid card) to see what company it was she paid.0 -

On both letters the "our ref" is visible. On the second letter your reg number is visible.
I advise that you amend your photos and check for anything else that might identify this case.0
