Can i get a credit card?

hi,

i have a bad credit rating due to non-payment on some bills due to health problems and lack of funds.

i order things off ebay and have to send postal orders (hassle in this weather) and also need to loan friends cards to renew car/home insurance as the cheaper deals are always online.

i only want a credit card to be used on the internet, is there any card out there that i can use, or that i will be able to obtain?

Due to current banks sub prime issues, the chancs of virtualy anybody getting a card is practicaly nil. the more you try the worse your rating will get.

You don't need a credit card for the best offers.
A debit card will suffice and a lot of banks offer this with a basic/cash accounts.

If you really want to try for a credit card some - like Capital One used to have a card with a small limit whereby you had to leave a deposit with them before they issue you with a card.

IMO Pre paid cards are costly and will do you no good in rebuilding your credit history.

as i don't have a job or bank account i don't think i have much choice

my husband works but cannot get credit due to me (some stuff was in his name and i made the mess when he was away!)

A Basic bank account with a debit card is effectively the same thing as a prepaid card, just without the fees. Lack of job isn't a problem, as long as you can prove who you are.

natwest offer a step account that comes with a solo card . its very easy to get and you can apply online too
