Park Direct UK Letter recieved

Hi All,

Recieved a letter (no windscreen ticket) to the registered keepers address for a PCN for stopping (10 -15 minutes) on private property, the driver never left the car, was doing some admin, got out, checked the sign and drove off to find an appropriate place to park. Then the keeper recieved a letter from Parking direct UK requesting £100, reduced to £60 if paid within 14 days.

Have gone to the IAS website to appeal but they dont recognise the PCN number reference and am unable to log any appeal.

Do I go direct to parkdirect UK via post?! I can feel the onslaught of letters incoming already..

Have you read the Stickies/FAQs? Also read the IAS CoP regarding grace periods and, if you think that you have a case, complain to your MP as nine times out of ten these tickets are scams .

Parliament is well aware of the MO of these private parking companies, and on 15th March 2019 a Bill was enacted to curb the excesses of these shysters. Codes of Practice are being drawn up, an independent appeals service will be set up, and access to the DVLA's date base more rigorously policed, persistent offenders denied access to the DVLA database and unable to operate.

Hopefully life will become impossible for the worst of these scammers, but until this is done you should still complain to your MP, citing the new legislation.

Just as the clampers were finally closed down, so hopefully will many of these Private Parking Companies.
You never know how far you can go until you go too far.

Edit your post to remove information about who did what. Only ever refer to The Driver and The Keeper, who are two different people. ;)

Do this before you do anything else.

Then, and only then, read the sticky thread for NEWBIES before sending the appeal template in blue text you will find there. Read up on what to do afterwards if/when it is rejected.

The keeper should also send an SAR to the PPC as per the NEWBIES.

By the way, a driver not getting out of a car is still called parking.

Hi, yes I read the sticky, just checking I have read correctly. The letter only gives a postal address for appeals before being provided the IAS details. I am reluctant to send a letter as the amount of garbage letters you start receiving is phenomenal.

Is this the correct approach, send the an appeal letter via the standard templates?

Everyone is asked to read up on this in the newbies FAQ thread near the top of the forum before starting a new thread

Go there now to learn about the game you are now caught up in and how to deal with this

You will see there that appeals to Ipc companies will fail and after getting the rejection you should not then proceed to the IAS. Appeals to IAS are futile but give the PPC a stick to beat you with in court!

Send the appeal template in blue from post 1 of the NEWBIES by whatever method the NTK tells you to use. If this is by post then do so from a Post Office counter and obtain a free proof of posting.
Do not use any other method of posting.
Do not miss the appeal deadline.
An IAS appeal is futile and could be detrimental, so only do the initial appeal and then wait to see what the PPC does next.
