Does anyone know if this fee hike is still safely buried or has it somehow got through the government morass?
We are just starting the process of applying and it would be nice to know, as we could be looking at a major cost to be found before the sale of the house can go through.

So, no date fixed for approval, but it would be introduced shortly after approval. Fee is determined when you apply, so the sooner the better;)0 -
Thanks for that - a small consolation for us, for the chaos that is the UK Government at the moment.0

May I gently suggest getting a mild wiggle on?
"The Non-Contentious Probate (Amendment) Rules 2019 (SI 2019/1057) amend SI 1987/2024 to provide for an online applications process from 1 October 2019 "
Mind you, all govt things via an online route often take a while to bed in, but if you can avoid that particular stress...0
