Unemployment Insurance + Self Employment

Hi

Not sure if this is the right forum.

I have just been made redundant and am considering my future options.

I have unemployment insurance that has a 60 day wait after end of notice period (so won't kick in until end of Sept). I am considering whether to look at going SE but not sure whether whilst there would be no income from this I would need to declare to the ins comp, or whether I can hang on and wait to see whether the business is viable. Worried if I tell them and it falls on it's face then I am up the proverbial creek with a paddle !!

Any input would be appreciated.
