Oil In Coolant
Hi everyone,
I had an issue a few days ago. It condensation from the AC unit
Whilst having that checked out by a friend, who isn't a mechanic, they did point out traces of oil in the coolant reservoir.
When I put my fingers in around the edges you can see traces of oil.
No mayo like residue under the oil cap or dipstick. Car doesn't overheat.
I have never had to add coolant and the reservoir has needed flushed for quite sometime with residue in there.
Flush it and pray it isn't the head gasket? Like I said car doesn't overheat. My friend isn't convinced it is the HG. There is no pressure in the engine, no bubbles in reservoir. Car doesn't overheat stays around 85c on long drives. Might creep up a bit but does go down. Fan comes on at 105c very, very rarely does it even get close to that only if I have left the engine idling and am stopped somewhere for 20 odd minutes.
Any ideas? Am hoping when its flushed that will be it and its crap left over from over from previous owner. Car is a 2009 corsa.
Thank you

Is it a diesel?
If so, there's an oil cooler under the oil filter housing that's prone to leaking oil into the coolant.
It's very common on the 1.3 Multijet Fiat engine which Vauxhall badge as a 1.3 CDTi.0 -
No, its petrol 1.20

I would just keep an eye on it to see if anything changes or ask a mechanic.0
