Evening All,
First time I've started a thread on here, just tend to lurke really
.
Anyway, hubby and I have had our LBM and it's frightening!!! I have followed through all the advice given on martin's article and switched/saved where possible.
I'm trying to now get the credit card 'arrangements' sorted. I have reviewed my credit report and I have an 'excellent' score but I don't want to ruin it as hubby's score is poor. I currently have 1 cc that I'm paying off and 1 that is paid off every month (food, petrol etc). I have applied and just received American Express to use for the petrol & food. My dilema is I want to apply for another card, to try and get 0%, but I only seem to get about £4k....when do then number of applications start to affect my credit score?
I hope that all makes sense!
Thanks for looking :j

I would recommend no more than 2 credit checks in a 3 month period. and no more than 3 within 6 months. Credit checks after 6 months have very little impact on the credit score, but too many close together and you could struggle.
I'd suggest looking at your credit history before doing anything to see when the last checks were made. Some people forget that a phone contract and even getting a catalogue sometimes incurrs a credit check. After falling off the gambling wagon (twice): £33,600 (24,000+ 9,600) - Original CC Debt: £7,885.91

Total Owed: £2,270 (+6k) 11/08/20110
