Can Banks retaliate against PPI Claimants

Myself along with several friends have potential PPI claims but before proceeding we all get stuck on what is for us a key issue. Overall we each work closely with banks professionally and personally on a variety of matters. By and large, the relationships are positive. So the big question is, if I for instance, put in a PPI claim against, say Nat West, will my records be marked, will my relationship officer be advised and even worse yet come under pressure to be less supportive on existing and new business. In a sense, the amount of PPI doesn't matter to small businessmen like us if some sort of retaliation going forward is remotely possible. Maybe we are being a bit paranoid, but it is not worth taking a chance on. None of have heard a clear answer from any respected truly independent source. Thank you

Yes, you're being very paranoid.
Banks are run on commercial grounds, not vendettas.
They also don't have the time or inclination to micro manage your account.0 -
Banks usually look at things from a buisness perspective, they have already put aside billions of pounds with which to pay out claims, and it all ends shortly.
From my own personal experiance, one department normally dosent know what another is doing, so the chances of any repercussions within your current buisness relationships are pretty slim i would say.
No one actually knows what goes on in the minds of individual bankers, but its a fair bet to say that profit normally comes before all else where banks are concerned.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. At this very moment, all bank accounts belonging to anyone called Jim or James born in 1977 are being cancelled.
You also missed a choice on your poll "does my head look big in this tinfoil hat?"0 -

Phew! I'm 1974 and I work in a bank and have some oversight over the dept handing PPI enquiries, as does a colleague of mine who got £1200 back just last week- I'll ask him if he is a little bit worried, esp now that I know!0 -
HSBC refunded me a large chunk of money several years ago. I haven't noticed any deterioration in my relationship with them.
Although someone did smash my car window shortly afterwards.... might have been the bank manager I suppose.....0 -
