Hi, I've had issues with my insurance. My motorbike was written off in a non fault accident I wanted to cancel my insurance but have an outstanding balance. I've requested to have finance set up and was told they'd ring me back to set it up. They never did and I've noticed this morning that they've taken the full amount leaving me with nothing and I have rent etc to pay with no money left. What should I do? Is there any way to make them refund the money and set up finance like I asked? Thank you in advance.

When a claim is paid out the premium is due in full, I guess they have deducted the premium and excess from the payout? This may have left you in negative equity, failing that claim it from the 3rd party.

No, because they didn't have to in the first place.

The only way to make them setup the finance and refund you, is to ask them, and then complain if they do not. This is not certain to work, and I think that they will be resistant to doing so. A better option might be to get a personal loan so you can pay your rent and have money to live.
