Tax Credits Appeal

Has anyone been able to win an appeal, ive looked on the tax credits website and they say only 1 in 10 are successful?
I know ive been overpaid as ive spoken to tax credits, when i updated my claim last year 2017/2018 i advised them of my income for the year, what college my son was at and the fact that as he was now 16 is had declined claiming any DLA for himself as he doesnt class himself as having ASD - another different issue! They said they would update my claim and since then ive thought nothing about it until this year - I updated my claim online. Everything went smoothly online until last week i received a letter asking for proof of DVA - i phoned straight away to tell them that neither i or DS is receiving this. They confimed on the phone that they were advised by me in the June and then HMRC in the July of 2018 but have continued to pay the disabiltity element - i cant see this on any of the tax credit desision letters.
So in short :rotfl: anyone ever been lcuky enough to over turn their ruling? Ive just checked online and my TC have reduced by £90, not a sum I can afford to lose with just a weeks notice - im awaitng my letter but assume this is them taking back the over payment.
Thanks
EDIT: from HMRC Website
Dispute a tax credits overpayment
You can be overpaid tax credits even if you told HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) about a change of circumstances on time. You’ll normally have to repay these.
Disputes are usually only successful if HMRC made a mistake.
Fewer than 1 in 10 tax credit disputes are successful.

When the DLA stopped were your tax credits reduced accordingly? As there was no qualifying benefit award then you won't be entitled to the disabled element of child tax credits.
If they weren't reduced then did you contact them to tell them you were still receiving the same amount?0 -
Hi,
.
My TC went up slightly after i informed them that we had stopped receiving DLA, i wrongly assumed that it was because i had started working and as its SE and a Zero hour contract the figures were slightly less than i had told TC at the start.
They confirmed that they received the info that they were informed on the 18th of July 2018. The lady said on the phone to appeal but looking online, they even state that if the have been told but continue to pay they will still reclaim the money.
Working it out without the letter it will be about a 4K overpayment. Im gutted, thought i was just about doing okay
Next Friday instead of £120 im only getting £32. Its going to be very hard to survive this summer / winter until it is paid back.
And now i cant find the original paper work  I really shouldnt oragnize things.0 -

You need to find the award notice you received after 18th July and see if it is on there. If you didn't receive a new notice after reporting the change they would have expected you to contact them.
Also, the process you need to follow is a dispute and not an appeal.
