Advice please, my laptop in used only for social no work, no gaming nor downloads and memory has loads. Last Dec 2018 had new hard drive as deemed required by certain high st shop(service contract). Told my computer was now as new!!!

Ever since I had this(2 years) it has lost wifi connection - network adaptor disengages!, I am a dab hand at no longer needing instructing as to how to uninstall and restart.

Now techs saying it needs returning again and new network card.

Have seen many reports online about this network adaptor and it appears to be known for this problem.
Would you do.......seems an ongoing problem with Asus and Acer.
Also excuse ignorance but should I be having this problem after repair and new hard drive

Check board connections, and antenna connections - open it up
if you lose the network card from device manager, then i would guess it is the card. If the wifi signal keeps dropping then I would look for newer drivers, often from the chipset manufacturer, rather than MS

Try the £4 USB dongle. If it works cancel your Curry's service contract asap.

Well in my ignorance (lets but it down to age) did not know these wifi dongles were out there and so reasonable, so will certainly get one to try.
As for the service contract, it has another 12 mths to go - hence me wanting my moneys worth.....which I honestly think with just the phone support I am getting! But sometimes I feel like they think they are dealing with an idiot - I am not savvy in anyway with laptops.
But for around £4 this would give me my laptop and got another 7 - 10 days away again!!

Thank you for your help with this.
